Location: Main Campus - 10514 Oberrender Rd. Needville, Texas 77461 United States 

Pay Rate: $20.00 an hour

Schedule: On call

  • Shift hours are 10am to 6pm
  • We offer flexibility in your preferred working days 

Are you a skilled cook looking to earn extra cash? As an on-call cook, you'll create delicious meals in a supportive, therapeutic environment while providing compassionate customer service. You’ll prepare meals for up to 30 people, interact with clients daily, and ensure the kitchen's cleanliness and safety. If you're skilled in food preparation, organization, and building positive relationships, we’d love to hear from you!  

At Fulshear, we empower women+ (ages 18-28) to take charge of their lives and create positive change. Our beautiful 34-acre ranch near Houston, TX, offers a variety of therapies, including cognitive-behavioral, equine-assisted, family, and individual therapy. We specialize in addressing challenges such as depression, anxiety, mood and personality disorders, addiction, trauma, and attachment issues. Through attachment and trauma-focused modalities, life skills development, and family systems work, we help young adults move beyond trauma and cultivate fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for clients and staff, fostering a positive dining experience.
  • Ensure food service meets high standards for nutrition, safety, sanitation, and quality.
  • Follow recipes, determine food quantities, and adhere to meal schedules
  • Adhere to any dietary restrictions and special dietary needs of clients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Participate in weekly meetings as well as ongoing training, development, and supervision.

Qualifications

What do you bring to this position?

  • Passionate about cooking with a warm approach that balances kindness and clear boundaries.
  • Current Food Handler's certification is required
  • ServSafe certification preferred 
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Strong time-management skills, ensuring smooth meal preparation and timely service.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience cooking in residential programs, hospitals, or mental health settings is preferred
